SHIPPING INFORMATION

Shipping Times

  • Shipping times are based on the courier (Canada Post, UPS, etc.) and service (Express, Expedited, etc.) you choose at checkout. Typically orders placed after 1:00pm EST (Eastern Standard Time) will be shipped the next business day (presuming that all items are in stock). Business Days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (excluding holidays). For example, an order placed on Friday at 10:00am will not leave our store until Monday.

Tracking Information

  • Tracking information is emailed to you once the order has been shipped.  Click on the tracking number for an up-to-date status.  Or go to the courier's website and enter the tracking number provided to you for updated information.

Fulfilling Orders

  • If we cannot ship your complete order to you due to stock issues, an additional shipping charge may apply when we ship the back-ordered items.  A customer service representative will contact you if additional shipping charges apply.

Incorrect Shipping Address

  • Providing the correct and up-to-date address is the responsibility of the customer. Please check that the address you provided is correct and up-to-date.  We may not be able to change the address of your order once it passes through our verification stage.

Delivery Attempts

  • In most cases, the shipping courier will make two attempts to deliver your merchandise and will leave a door hanger notifying you of the attempt. Most couriers allow you the ability to have a package held at a local customer center. This can usually be arranged online through the couriers' website. If the package is deemed undeliverable after the third attempt, the product will be returned to our warehouse. You will be credited for the price of the merchandise minus the actual cost of shipping and the cost of return shipping. All credits will be applied to the original payment method.

United States Orders – Import Duties, Tariffs, and Refused Shipments

Orders shipped to the United States may be subject to import duties, tariffs, taxes, brokerage fees, or other charges imposed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection or the shipping carrier. These charges are not included in the purchase price or shipping cost and are the sole responsibility of the recipient.

Any applicable import charges may be collected by the carrier (such as UPS) prior to delivery or at the time of delivery.

If a customer refuses to pay the required duties, tariffs, taxes, or brokerage fees and the shipment is refused, abandoned, or returned to sender, The Lax Shack will not accept the return and the order will not be eligible for a refund.

By placing an order for shipment to the United States, the customer acknowledges and agrees to these terms and accepts full responsibility for any import charges required for delivery.

Common Import Charges

  • Tariffs (Import Duties)
Government-imposed charges on certain goods entering the United States. Tariffs are usually calculated as a percentage of the declared value of the product and depend on the type of product and country of origins
  • Import Fees
General charges applied when goods enter the United States. These may be based on the value of the shipment and product classifications
  • Taxes
State or local taxes may apply depending on the delivery destination in the United States
  • Customs / Brokerage Fees
Shipping carriers such as UPS may charge a brokerage or processing fee for clearing the shipment through customs.

International Orders (Outside the United States) – Duties, Taxes & Import Fees

The Lax Shack is a Canadian retail store and all orders are shipped from Canada. Orders shipped to countries outside of Canada and the United States may be subject to import duties, taxes, and customs fees required by the destination country.

These charges are not included in the purchase price or shipping cost and must be paid by the recipient.

  • Import Duties / Tariffs
Government charges applied to goods entering a country. These are typically calculated as a percentage of the declared value of the product and depend on the product type and country of origin.
  • Import Taxes (VAT / GST or Local Taxes)
Many countries apply value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), or similar local taxes on imported goods. These taxes are usually calculated based on the value of the goods and applicable local tax rates.
  • Customs / Brokerage Fees
Shipping carriers such as UPS may charge a brokerage or customs processing fee for clearing the shipment through customs.

Important

All duties, taxes, tariffs, and brokerage fees are determined by the destination country’s customs authorities and the shipping carrier, not by The Lax Shack.

These charges may be collected by the shipping carrier before delivery or at the time of delivery.

If a shipment is refused because import charges are not paid, Lax Shack will not accept the return and no refund will be issued.

By placing an order for international delivery, you acknowledge and accept responsibility for any applicable import duties, taxes, or customs charges required by your country.
